Why is Dan Rogers running for the Water Board?
In this quick video, Dan breaks down how our water is managed, who’s really paying for it, and why it’s time for a smarter, fairer funding model. Homeowners are being double-taxed — and most don’t even know it. Learn what’s really going on and how Dan plans to fight for your rights.
Fighting for Fairness, Transparency, and Our Future
Hello, I’m Dan Rogers. I’m running to represent District 9 (Potter County) on the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District Board.
Our water is one of our most precious resources, and our policies must protect it — fairly and responsibly. I’m running because our groundwater deserves better stewardship, and you deserve more transparency. Homeowners should not be overburdened with unfair property taxes to fund a system that largely benefits big industries.
It’s time for smarter solutions, open communication, and real fairness. That’s what I stand for.

My Plan for Smarter Water Management
- End Property Taxes for Water Regulation: Shift funding to a tiered pumping fee so that those who use the most, pay the most. Homeowners with small wells or standard water use would pay nothing.
-
Fight for Transparency: Bring the Water Board’s activities into public view, so you know exactly what decisions are being made and why.
-
Protect Our Aquifers: Push back against harmful projects and irresponsible practices that threaten our groundwater.
-
Stand Up to Special Interests: I won’t be bought. I’ll fight for fairness — not favors.
-
Put the People First: I’ve turned down political endorsements because this election isn’t about politics — it’s about protecting YOU.
